A LOT of students do not know these. They will be one of the questions on the Problem of the Day EVERY week until everyone memorizes them! We have put them in our notes AND in our Math Journals. Make it easy on yourself and learn them now. They will help you out!!!!
.10 = 1/10
.20 = 1/5
.50 = 1/2
.25 = 1/4
.125 = 1/8
You should know them the other way around too. For example, if I ask you what is 1/8 equal to in decimal form, you would say ".125". This will make it easier on the SOL test if you have to put numbers in order and they give you some in fractions and some in decimals. You would simply change the fractions to decimals and put them all in order. If they give you 3/4 then you already know that 1/4 is equal to .25 so three of those would be equal to .75. LEARN THEM AND MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF.
